Rough Night

I thought last night's game was disappointing on many levels, but the most disappointing thing is I thought they played very timid last night. The Bayhawks are very good with a very good player in Ivan Johnson. Further, Ivan is a tough kid on the court, and he is not going to give any quarter. I think the guys did not battle that team the way they could have, and it ended up in a disappointing defeat.

The good news is that we know we can play much better. Chris Kramer did not have one of his better games, nor did Rod Wilmont or Ron Howard. Frankly, I can't think of a player on our side who really stood out, so I'd like to think we would have someone accept the challenge on Thursday, understand what we are playing for, not be intimidated, and play their best when their best is needed.

  1. I hate to say it, but that game was decided by the officiating. And that terrible officiating led to the game falling apart at the end. The Bayhawks just had too many bad calls go their way, got a little too cocky, and Ivan Johnson showed the Fort Wayne fans just how much of a asshole he is. I've never seen worse sportsmanship at a sporting event. I hope he never sees an NBA court in his life. There are much more deserving players. Call-ups shouldn't be for huge-wastes-of-talent like Johnson.

The officiating in the D-League SEVERELY hinders the game. CONSTANT whistles. It's ridiculous. I've passed up a few Ants games because I didn't want to sit through the whistles. That's a problem in the league that really needs fixed.

As for the team? Someone needs to step up in those situations. And Kramer needs to stop disappearing for long stretches. The kid wastes soooo many minutes out there.

  2. Approximately three quarters of those "whistles" you're hearing aren't whistles at all - those are screams from Kramer's mom. The deafening sound is so similar, I know.

  3. That lady needs banned from all the games. Seriously...calm down, it's the Mad Ants, not a NBA team.

  4. No, it's the Mad Ants. And they are far more fun to watch than the overblown NBA.
The D-league to me is much more entertaining than the NBA.

The Ant hill needs more fans like Kramer's mom.
