More NBA Cuts

More moves:

  • Utah Jazz waive Ryan Thompson, Sundiata Gaines, Othyus Jeffers, and Demetrius Nichols: This is a really good list of D-League candidates. Any D-League fans understands how good Othyus Jeffers has been the past two seasons. If he comes back, he will go back to Iowa. Sundiata Gaines was a revelation last year and earned a call up to the Uazz at the showcase while playing for the Stampede (who keep his rights). He went on to much acclaim for this shot. Nichols is a heck of a shooter and scorer, and I am not sure who has his rights right now -- maybe Iowa. Finally, Ryan Thompson is the only one free and clear to go straight to the Flash via the new allocation rules. I watched him a lot this summer and I thought he would be a really good D-League player. Let's hope he signs and doesn't head overseas.
  • Charlotte Bobcats waive Dairus Miles and Matt Rogers: Everyone knows Miles and his attempt to battle back from some awful knee injuries. I don't know if he would try to come to the D-League at this point in his career. Rogers is a center from Southwest Baptist University, and I really know nothing about him. Both would go to the Red Claws if they wanted them.
  • Phoenix Suns waive Zabian Dowdell and Dwayne Jones: Dowdell is a great scorer who played for the 66ers before going overseas, so I believe they would retain his rights should he come back to the D-League. Dwayne Jones' rights would be held by Austin, but The Hoops Market is reporting that Aris Thessaloniki is also interested in bringing him over to Greece.
