How did I play? Well, considering the other team had two guys face guarding me the entire game, I played pretty well. I hit a bunch of jumpers, but missed too many at the end. But, who cares -- we lost the game. The other team was younger and more active, and they eventually pulled away for a 30 point win after our squad ran out of gas. I would like to give a special shout out to Glen Reid, Bruce Patterson, and Gary Probst for playing in this league. There were not many older guys like them in this league, and it was fun to see them get out on the court and show us young guys how the cow eats the cabbage.
I now come to a devastating announcement that I am sure will be covered on sports pages throughout our fair nation, if not the world. I am announcing that I will no longer play in men's leagues. While I very much enjoyed playing with the guys, I did not enjoy playing against the other teams. When teams take things way too seriously, it is tough for me enjoy myself. Thus, I will certainly root our guys on in games from here on out, but I will no longer play in them.
I just hope our nation will be able to recover. I will be on the open of the live ESPN 9 am Sportscenter in 10 minutes, so look for me there. Fare thee well, rec leagues, fare thee well.

I'll be waiting on the Brett Favre announcement coming soon...
