At The Doctor

Instead of leading the Mad Ants rec league team to victory, I'm sitting in a doctors office waiting for them to take my nail off. I was working out with the fellas this weekend and, after taking off my shoe, I was greeted with the sight of a very bloody big toe. I've had these before, and the doc usually just takes it off, but I fear I will not be able to play tonight. Even worse, I fear it will jeopardize my streak of at least running 30 miles per week for the last 20 some odd weeks. I will try to gut it out at tonights game and for running, but I fear the dream is over. My only hope for both is that ace sales person and former college player Kyle Thoms, former St. Francis University stand out Jeff Dollens, all around stud Steve Gansey, and investors Bruce Patterson and Gary Probst can advance us to the next round. And, hopefully, with 19.5 miles in the bank for this week, I will be ready by at least Friday or Saturday for a long 10.5 miler to push me to 30...

...Okay, I'm sitting here now with a numb big toe (or Sgt. Hulka for all you Stripes fans), and the doc is going to take this disgusting toe nail off in a couple of minute. Needless to say, I think hoops in one hour is in severe jeopardy. Wish the team -- and me -- luck!
